Selfie became extremely popular in Russia. But not in the way you would imagine. It became popular in the weird, for someone interesting and dangerous way.
Russians are known for taking selfies in very dangerous situations, such as climbing a tower. Russian goverment is aware of this activities and has planned a campaign to stop this problem. This was caused by fact that 21-year-old Russian accidentally shot herself in the head while taking picture with a weapon. The case of young men pulling the pin from a granade while taking picture of it is also well known. Campaign warns not to take selfies in dangerous contexts, for example with big animals, on rooftops, and many others.
Dangerous selfies are problem not only in Russia, photos of people with tigers can be found everywhere. Facebook bragging turned out to be very not safe thing today.
