Rovio Entertainment became famous a few years ago with its game called Angry Birds, which won the hearts of players and popularized the mobile games segment. Later, however, the company did not achieve similar successes, until finally a few days ago there was a change of ownership of the company. From now on, Rovio Entertainment will be owned by Sega.
Sega paid 775 million of dollars to buy Rovio Entertainment. The overriding goal of Sega resulting from the transaction is the desire to develop its department responsible for the production of mobile games. Over time, however, it is possible that games from Rovio Entertainment's portfolio will also go to consoles. The transaction itself is to be finalized by September 2023.
