Despite the fact that the effects of the ongoing pandemic have an impact on entire economies, the movement in the market is slowly returning to the state of almost 2 years ago. This is also confirmed by the smartphone market research conducted by Counterpoint Research, which researched the state of the smartphone market in Europe.
According to the latest research, the overall phone market has grown by 8% compared to 2020. However, it is still somewhat short of the pre-pandemic results, as in 2020 the smartphone market saw a decline in overall phone sales by 14% compared to 2019. However, 2021 turned out to be the most competitive in the history of the smartphone market, as the leader of the ranking has changed four times. The full-year results show that Samsung had the largest share in the European market, as sales of as many as 32% of smartphones were related to this company. Apple took the second place, taking 26% of the market and leading the results for January, November and December. In one month, June 2021, Xiaomi turned out to be the leader of the ranking, taking the third place in the ranking of companies throughout the year, with a share in 20% of telephone sales on the European market. The remaining places were taken by companies such as Oppo, realme and vivo, respectively.
