TikTok is a dynamically developing platform that is very popular especially among younger people, including teenagers. Currently, the portal offers not only films created for entertainment, which is sometimes risky, because the algorithm can indicate to the youngest recordings that are not adapted to their age, such as recordings with challenges, the repetition of which may cause physical injuries. For this reason, TikTok is working on improving its algorithm to protect the youngest users of the platform from videos that may be harmful to them.

Soon TikTok is to enable the creators of recordings to provide information about a specific group that is to be the addressee of the film. Such an option may allow for sharing a recording that is not suitable for publication for children and the algorithm will not offer recordings to such users automatically after selecting the appropriate option by the author. In addition, the developers of the application are working on creating an algorithm to evaluate the recordings in terms of their "maturity". Each recording would receive an appropriate rating, which would indicate whether a specific video can be published to minors or not. So far, work on new functions in the application is ongoing and they are only tested in a small group of betatesters.
