The series of flagship phones from Xiaomi from the very beginning of its presence on the market was characterized by a specific "Mi" note in the name. Later, more brands of smartphones produced by this company appeared on the market, and later even separate sub-brands were launched: Redmi and POCO. In the near future, the brand of flagship devices, so far marked with the annotation "Mi", will face some changes. It turns out, however, that they only concern nomenclature.
Xiaomi employees have officially confirmed that the company resigns from using this note in the names of its products. This change will come into force in the third quarter of this year, hence it can be expected that new phones from Xiaomi will now appear on the market without the "Mi" note in their names. Flagship smartphones from Xiaomi will therefore receive simple names consisting of consecutive numbers. Officially, this change will probably be confirmed on 15th of September, and the first phone using the new nomenclature will be the previously presented Xiaomi Mix 4 (previously the media reported that the phone will be called Mi Mix 4).
