American companies such as Google and Microsoft have announced some time ago that they plan to give up the production of their devices in departments located in China. The main reason for this decision was the friction between the US government and the Chinese government. However, it appears that epidemic of coronavirus in China may accelerate the implementation of this plan.
Accelerated production changes will mean that Google's Pixel 4A smartphone will no longer be made in China. It is not known where the branches will eventually be moved, but the latest information indicates that Pixel 4A will be produced in Vietnam in cooperation with Google partners from this country. It is likely that Pixel 5 will also be produced in Vietnam. Microsoft also plans to manufacture its devices in the same country. This change would start with the production of the Surface series of devices, but this will happen soonest from the second quarter of 2020. It is worth remembering that other companies such as Samsung are already producing their devices in Vietnam.
