One of the most popular creators of processors for smartphones, Qualcomm, once again organized its flagship event called Tech Summit. During this conference Qualcomm presented its new two units. We are talking about Snapdragon 865 and Snapdragon 765.
Snapdragon 865 uses one Kryo 585 Prime core (2.84GHz), three Kryo 585 cores (2.4GHz) and four Kryo 585 cores (1.8GHz). According to the information provided by the manufacturer, the new configuration should allow for an increase in performance of 25% compared to the results of Snapdragon 855. In addition, it is worth mentioning that Snapdragon 865 will support displays using a refresh rate of 144Hz. As a curiosity it is worth noting that the new Qualcomm processor will also allow for the use of lenses up to 200mpx. Unfortunately, the Snapdragon 865 processor will not support the 5G network alone, which means that smartphone manufacturers will have to use additional modems like Snapdragon X55 during creating 5G-enabled phones.
Another unit which was also presented at the conference was Snapdragon 765. It is a processor created for mid-range phones, but what is important, this unit will have a built-in 5G modem. Certainly, the development of such a processor will contribute to lowering the price of phones which support 5G in the long run.
