In December 2020, Qualcomm introduced its latest flagship processor, Snapdragon 888. The company was constantly working on an improved version of this unit and firm finally managed to develop a slightly more powerful variant of the processor, which will appear on the market under the name Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus. It is one of the first premieres presented at MWC 2021.
The main changes that can be noticed compared to the standard Snapdragon 888 are the increased value of the maximum clock speed of the main core (currently it will be 3GHz) and the increase in AI Engine performance (an increase of about 20%). The rest of the CPU specs are pretty much the same. It is already known that such companies as Asus, Motorola, Xiaomi and Vivo are already working on phones using the new Qualcomm's processor. Phones with Snapdragon 888 Plus should appear on the market no earlier than in the third quarter of 2021.
