In the last few months, the Indian government has been intensely working on the security of data of users using certain applications on their phones. The Government of India has decided that more than 250 applications do not meet user data security standards and decided to block all of them. This decision was well thought out, which is confirmed by the latest reports. The Indian government has reaffirmed its earlier ban on 59 applications produced by Chinese firms.

The list of banned applications includes, among others, some Xiaomi's applications or WeChat, but by far the most media topic is blocking TikTok. Until now, users in India were able to download the aforementioned applications, as companies were constantly trying to prove their innocence and appealed to the courts, but in the end the government's decisions were confirmed as the companies did not prove that they were able to keep security of stored sensitive data of their users. This decision was communicated directly to the companies, and so far Indian government hasn't officially listed on the Internet all the applications that have been officially banned.
