Due to the takeover of Twitter by Elon Musk, there have been major changes both in the functioning of the website and at the level of management. Overall, the action had a negative impact on the price of Twitter stocks, which fell. The reason was, among other things, giving false information through verified accounts. This was possible thanks to the subscription for 8$ per month, which allowed the use of functions such as planning and editing the tweet, but also the profile from which the subscription was purchased was marked as verified with a special blue icon. Until now, such a designation only applied to famous celebrities or politicians. Ultimately, however, part of this subscription was withdrawn from Twitter, but Elon Musk has already announced that it will return to the portal soon.
As Elon Musk himself informed on his account, the option to verify the account with the blue icon will return to Twitter on 29th of November. Musk announces that the feature will be upgraded, but he did not provide any details about the changes to the offered subscription. Let's hope that after the changes the account verification option will no longer affect the spread of false information, but for now it seems to be an inevitable problem that will come back to us in the next days.
