Android Auto is a mobile application created by Google that allows the user to manage the display in his car. Its use allows, among other things, to use navigation, but also applications such as Spotify or YouTube. With the latest update, the Android Auto application has received one more unusual function. By using Android Auto, users will now be able to detect faulty USB cables.

This feature is introduced by the Android Auto update to version 7.5.121104. In the settings after making an update option called USB Startup Diagnostic should appear. Then, after physically connecting the cable to the car, the application is able to check by sending small data packets whether they are being transferred correctly and on this basis verify the correct operation of the connected cable. Google recommends that users should use the official cables that are included in the phone bundles for testing, and that they should preferably be shorter than 1 meter. To obtain a reliable result, you should also abandon the use of external adapters.
