Apple has expanded the ads section in the AppStore, which can be seen in the Today section and a special tab at the bottom of each application called "You might also like". The change took effect on 25th of October. In this way, Apple suggested to users the most popular applications in line with their interests or currently viewed applications. However, a problem has been identified with gambling related applications.
Users started reporting on social networks that advertisements for gambling-related apps started appearing too often after the changes were made. Moreover, there have been cases of recommending gambling applications while browsing the AppStore in order to find an application that would help to recover from a gambling addiction. These changes have caused controversy and for this reason Apple has limited advertising of gambling-related applications within the AppStore. However, the announcement is quite laconic and apart from the information about the suspension of displaying such applications in the AppStore, we do not know anything more about it, including the lack of information about the future of advertising gambling apps inside the AppStore.
