Windows Phone project wasn't too successful, and creator of this system, Microsoft, have no plans connected with it for future. Giant from Redmond has been closing all Windows Phone related services for a long time, which means that users must be ready for the fact that devices running on this system will soon prove to be completely useless. The system support was completed over 2 years ago, and in the coming weeks Microsoft will officially close application store for Windows Phone 8.1.
In practice, this change means that users will no longer be able to update their applications or install any of the applications that were previously available in the store. Microsoft even gave a specific date when the announced changes will come into force - it will take place on 16th of December this year. Until then, users will have the option of upgrading the system on their phones to Windows 10 Mobile, but this is really pointless, because Microsoft does not associate its future with this system and after some time it will also be closed. However, if you want to make this update, you can upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile on one of the following phones: Microsoft Lumia 430, Microsoft Lumia 435, Microsoft Lumia 532, Microsoft Lumia 535, Microsoft Lumia 540, Nokia Lumia 635 (only version with 1GB RAM), Nokia Lumia 636, Nokia Lumia 638, Microsoft Lumia 640, Microsoft Lumia 640 XL, Nokia Lumia 730, Nokia Lumia 735, Nokia Lumia 830, Nokia Lumia 929, Nokia Lumia Icon, Nokia Lumia 930 and Nokia Lumia 1520.
