Since Samsung decided to produce its own processors called Exynos, they regularly appear in flagship devices from the Galaxy series. This trend will continue in Samsung Galaxy S9, because this phone will be available on market in two versions: one with Exynos 9810 processor, and the second one with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. We already received benchmark results of both variants and we can see which version works better.
Basing on results from Geekbench we can say that option with Exynos 9810 received 8894 points in multi-core score, and variant with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 got 8132 points also in the multi-core score. In the single-core score phone with Exynos received 3648 points, while option with the other processor scored 2378 points in the same test. As we can see, at least theoretically Galaxy S9 in version with Exynos 9810 works significantly better, but we will see in future if this difference is noticeable in everyday use.
