Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge phones were released on the market three years ago. Throughout this time, the manufacturer provided customers with regular system security updates. The company provided updates approximately every quarter, but this situation will change from now on. The producer announced changes to the publishing plans for both these phones.
Samsung divides the phones from its portfolio into three groups in terms of the regularity of updates: on phones receiving updates every month, on devices updated quarterly and on smartphones updated irregularly. From now on Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will receive them only from time to time, so basically they will now be phones from third group. Interestingly, Samsung still intends to regularly update one of its three-year-old smartphones. We're talking about Galaxy S7 active.
