Despite the fact that the Apple Watch is equipped with functions controlling the health of users, Apple emphasizes that this device should not be treated as medical equipment. It can only serve as a clue informing the user that specific details about his health are disturbing, and in this respect the Apple Watch is more and more often doing well in its role, which can even save users' lives. Recently, the Apple Watch saved a woman's life after a fall down the stairs, when the watch automatically detected such a fall and called an ambulance, and now another case has appeared in the press indicating the correct detection of dangerous symptoms in the user's body.
In the discussed case, the Apple Watch, using the ECG sensor used to assess the quality of the heart rate, showed one of the users information about the disturbing heart rate. As a result of the displayed messages, the recipient decided to perform a professional examination, which, as it turned out, confirmed the concerns detected by Apple Watch. The study showed that there was a blocked artery in the body that needed immediate surgery. As a thank you, the wife of an Apple Watch user decided to officially thank Apple's CEO Tim Cook by sending a letter expressing gratitude for saving her husband's life.
