Many companies assume that creating their own, fully proprietary processor will significantly reduce the cost of smartphone production. Of course, the costs are significantly reduced, but to develop a solid processor it takes a lot of time and firm need a lot of employees to do it, hence it is a breakneck task. This conclusion was reached by the Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi, which at the moment decided to abandon the development of its own processors.

The latest information from the Xiaomi's environment indicates that the manufacturer will focus on other, less complex processes than creating its own processors. It is worth recalling that only one original Xiaomi's processor called Surge S1 appeared on the market. From now on, the company will mainly sign contracts with two well-known manufacturers of processor for phones - Qualcomm and MediaTek. The liquidation of the department responsible for the production of processors will allow Xiaomi to create low power Bluetooth models or RF chips.
