The use of Twitter for many users was not limited to using official applications released by Twitter. Many users willingly used Tweetbot or Tweetdeck. Unexpectedly, however, without much announcement, external Twitter applications stopped working. It turns out, however, that this is not a bug, but an intended action of people managing Twitter.
Twitter limited the explanation of its decision to a short message in which it was informed that some third-party applications may not work due to the enforcement of long-established API rules. Developers of third-party applications reported that they had not received any messages from Twitter. However, the problem was probably the display of advertisements that are visible in the official Twitter applications and at the same time they missed in third-party applications.
