The conflict between Nokia and Apple lasted from 2009. American company has been accused of using the Nokia's patents without the company's permission, and since then both firms have met in court many times. After years of negotiations, Nokia and Apple met an agreement in May 2017. Details of this contract weren't disclosed, but today we know a bit more after publication of a report on Nokia's financials.
Nokia confirmed that they received up-front cash payment around 1.7 billion euro (2 billion $), but that's not the end of contract’s details. Apple now can use Nokia's patents, but in the future they need to provide Nokia with a percentage of revenue from the use of this patent.
