Many phones on the market are currently released in special versions supporting the 5G connection. Apple has not decided on such a move in this year's models, but everything indicates that next year's iPhones will support 5G. However, this will happen thanks to modems manufactured by Intel, and both companies have already signed a relevant cooperation agreement in this aspect. Despite this, Apple is seriously thinking about creating its own 5G modems, but based on the latest reports it will not happen too quickly.
Journalists say that Apple is currently working on its own solution and Apple's 5G modems will be ready for implementation in 2022. It is possible that as a result of long-lasting certification processes before the modems are released to the market, their premiere may be delayed up to 2023. Until then, Apple will be dependent on other companies such as Intel or Qualcomm, and it is worth remembering that in the past cooperation between Apple and Qualcomm was not perfect. Original Apple's modems will be created both for iPhones and iPads.
