During 2019, on the mobile market for the first time we met with the large-scale production of phones supporting 5G. Despite the fact that at the moment infrastructure of telephone networks almost all over the world is not yet adapted to provide 5G quality connections to many customers, over time surely 5G-enabled phones will become a standard. Before this happens, we will have to wait some time, hence it seemed that the sale of these phones for now will not be too impressive, among other things due to their price. As statistics prove, surprisingly phones supporting 5G are quite popular.
As we can read in official Huawei's reports, company in 2019 managed to sell as many as 6.9 million units of devices supporting 5G. There are currently six such phones in their portfolio, and they are: Mate 20 X 5G, Mate 30 5G, Mate 30 Pro 5G, Mate 30 RS Porsche Design, nova 6 5G and Mate X. Most of the phones were sold on the main market for Huawei, i.e. in China. Huawei has better stats than Samsung, which during 2019 sold 6.7 million units of devices supporting 5G worldwide.
