The auto status setting option is available in Threads application created for Instagram, which is owned by Facebook. No wonder that Facebook wants to use the already developed function and add it to its other apps. Messenger will probably be the first to receive it after Instagram, as on the Internet appeared first reports indicating that the auto status will actually appear in Messenger.

The operation of the auto status in Messenger should work exactly the same as in the case of Threads. Messenger will read the location, battery status or working of accelerometer from our phones to dynamically change information about what we are doing at the moment. The application will place next to our photo a small icon informing about the auto status, but what is important - this option will be visible only for specific users selected by us. For now, Facebook has only confirmed that this option is in the early testing phase and it is not known when it will eventually be added to main application.
