Facebook plans to start new premium subscription on its website which will be news subscription service made in cooperation with the biggest newspapers like Bild or The Telegraph. Subscription will be added to Instant Articles option which was implemented to Facebook in 2015.
Additional subscription will be tested in two variants: the first one is described as option which allows for reading 10 articles, and if user would like to read more of them, he will be forced to pay for it. Other variant says that newspapers will choose which articles will be available for free, and which articles will be available after additional payment.
As it turns out, new subscription will debut only on Android, because Apple takes 30 percent tax from every subscription made by owners of Apple devices. Negotiations between Facebook and Apple stopped for now, but in future there is a chance that subscription will be released also for users with devices made by Apple.
