Last year, Oppo announced that there will be a unification of two user overlays - ColorOS, so far officially developed by Oppo, and OxygenOS, an interface developed by a company controlled by Oppo, which is OnePlus. The system was to consist of a unified design and almost the same source code. Users immediately expressed their dissatisfaction, because OxygenOS, due to its similarity to Android in the version without manufacturer overlays, was very much appreciated by customers. The pressure from users turned out to be effective, as OnePlus announced that the OxygenOS version 13 will be created in the future.
Some leaks on this subject have appeared on the Internet earlier, but now the ongoing work on the new version of OxygenOS has been confirmed by the manufacturer itself. OxygenOS and ColorOS are still to be quite similar in terms of code, but there will be noticeable differences in terms of likeness to the base version of Android, because OxygenOS, in accordance with the previous policy, is to resemble a stock Android. The upcoming OxygenOS version 13 is to be based on Android 13. More details about the new OxygenOS version are expected to be released in the coming weeks. In addition, in the same announcement, OnePlus announced some details about its plans for 2022. The most important of them was certainly the announcement of the global launch of the OnePlus 10 Pro smartphone globally at the end of March this year. Until now, this phone was only available in China.
