OnePlus and Oppo are companies that have cooperated with Nokia in the past. The cooperation was based mainly on the use of Nokia patents in Oppo and OnePlus smartphones. In 2018, Nokia and Oppo announced the establishment of a long-term cooperation which, however, was cancelled in 2021. This decision was argued with excessively high prices set by Nokia for the use of patents. It is possible that, however, Oppo and OnePlus continued to use Nokia's solutions despite the lack of permission to do so, which seems to be confirmed by the judgment of the German court.

According to a court judgment in Germany, Oppo and OnePlus illegally used two patents belonging to Nokia. For this reason, both companies have suspended the sale of their phones in Germany, hence it is not even possible to order phones in Germany through the official websites of both manufacturers. So far, the operations of Oppo and OnePlus in other European countries have not changed.
