So far, the heart icon has been ubiquitous on Spotify. By selecting selected songs, the application created a list of all songs marked with a heart. Spotify, however, decided to change the functionality and design of this icon, hence the current heart will be replaced by an icon with a plus.
Until now, marking specific songs with a heart only allowed them to be added to the list of liked songs. Replacing it with a plus icon in the same place will allow you to directly add songs to any playlists you choose from your library. A single click on the plus icon will add the selected audio to the list of liked songs, just like the heart icon did, while a double click will open a special window with the selection of the playlist to which the song or podcast is to be added. The new icon is gradually being released to users around the world, whether they are using their Android or iOS phones.
