In the past, Samsung announced that it wants to start mass production of 3nm chips by 2022, and the production of processors in 2nm technology by this company has been planned for 2025. TSMC, one of the main suppliers of components used in production of iPhones by Apple, has similar publishing plans.
The Taiwan-based company plans to start production of 3nm processors in the second half of this year, which will lead to a market debut in 2023. However, TSMC is also working on 2nm technology, as well as Samsung. It is supposed to increase the efficiency of processors from 10% to 15% with the same power consumption as previous processors. The publishing plans for processors made in 2nm technology indicate the planned premiere of such units in 2025. If it would happen, then it is going to be the same period as in the case of Samsung's plans.
