Fitbit is one of the most popular manufacturers on the market of devices known as "wearables", which is consisting mainly of sports bands and smartwatches. This manufacturer was mentioned as one of the largest on wearables market, along with Apple and Xiaomi. It could have be expected that larger companies than Fitbit will want to buy a smaller company in the future. In recent weeks, there have been many rumors on the Internet indicating that the takeover of Fitbit by Google is only a matter of time and now we know that ultimately such an agreement will be finalised.
So far, Google has not done very well in the smartwatch market, but purchase of Fitbit indicates that the company from Mountain View has serious plans related to this part of the mobile market. The company plans to launch a series of devices called "Made by Google", which immediately caused that rumors about the possible creation of a smartwatch called Pixel Watch returned to media. Google has paid up 2.1 billion of dollars for Fitbit.
