In the last days among social media we can notice a viral while users are taking photos processed with one of the filters from the FaceApp application, which has the task of making a face from a photo to look older. This application has been available on the market for some time, but before it has not gained much popularity until recent days. The application was created by a Russian company called Wireless Lab, and at the moment when it became a hit of the Internet, there were immediately discernments about its threat to data of users.

In order to use the application, users must give permission for applications that allow browsing files from the phone, which in theory can allow to copy virtually all our data from the smartphone, especially that in order to edit some files are send to the cloud, and this information was confirmed by producers of app. Nothing prevents them to copy more files to the cloud than they need to re-create the image. On the Internet appeared some information indicating that the Wireless Lab could share user photos with external companies. Manufacturers responded to these allegations. In their opinion, app has never used other photos than those selected by users, and all of them are removed from the cloud for up to 48 hours after uploading. In addition, they confirmed that data of their users never went to external companies, so it seems that at least officially we can sleep peacefully..
